My name is Laura Wallbank, and I live out in the prairies of Alberta, Canada with all my animals.
My love of horses in general started in 2009, when some friends of ours boarded their beginner mare out at our place in turn for teaching me how to ride. I bought my very first miniature horse, Baccardi in 2015, and loved him so much I decided to get another one the year after. Over the last 8 years, I've had 7 miniatures for fun, not at the same time though. I had a big confidence drop with riding during Covid (2020-2021 ish) so decided to stick with the minis. They've been amazing and I love having miniature horses!
Fast forward to 2023, March 17. I bought my very first double registered mare to start my breeding program. OMG When I Taste Tequila, aka Keyes around here, is the start of the program, and my heart horse. She has the build, brains, temperament and color to kickstart my program with a bang! She's currently in foal to my friend's stud, Bonanza's Boomerang, for a late 2024 foal. Fingers crossed it's a filly!
I aim to produce the middle-of-the-road type AMHA/AMHR miniatures, leaning farther to the refined Arabian side. Focusing on conformation, sweet easy-to-handle temperaments, and some flashy colors as well. They will be the horse wearing many hats; show them in halter, jumper, driving, etc., or have a nice pet that you and your family can dote on.
