STACKWATCH PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 29 July 2026
NorthStack Digital (“we”, “our” or “us”) provides StackWatch, an application for tracking precious metals, gemstones, cryptocurrency and custom assets.
This Privacy Policy explains how StackWatch handles information and the permanent privacy commitment applying to users’ holdings and private portfolio information.
HOLDINGS AND PRIVATE PORTFOLIO INFORMATION
StackWatch stores your holdings and private portfolio information locally on your device only.
NorthStack Digital does not receive, collect, store, view, retrieve or recover your holdings or private portfolio information.
This protected information includes:
• Assets and asset categories
• Quantities and weights
• Units and product sizes
• Purchase amounts and purchase currencies
• Purchase dates and purchase history
• Notes
• Targets
• Gemstone details
• Manually entered values
• Cost basis
• Profit and loss calculations
• Portfolio allocations
• Analytics snapshots
• Ratio alerts and calculations
• Information derived from your portfolio
StackWatch will never transmit your holdings or private portfolio information to NorthStack Digital or to a third-party portfolio-storage service.
NorthStack Digital will never sell, rent, disclose, analyse, profile or monetise your holdings or private portfolio information.
NorthStack Digital cannot see your holdings and cannot recover them for you.
NO STACKWATCH ACCOUNT
StackWatch does not require or create a NorthStack Digital user account.
Your holdings are not associated with a NorthStack Digital account, email address, customer profile or server-side portfolio.
DEVICE-ONLY STORAGE
Your holdings and private portfolio information remain inside StackWatch’s local app storage on your device.
StackWatch configures Android to disable cloud backup and excludes StackWatch app data from supported Android backup and device-transfer mechanisms where Android supports and honours those controls.
NorthStack Digital does not operate a holdings backup server or cloud portfolio-storage service.
No built-in manual backup or export is provided in this version of StackWatch. You should maintain your own independent record of your holdings if you may need to recover them.
Uninstalling StackWatch, clearing its app data, resetting your device, or losing or damaging your device may permanently remove your holdings and private portfolio information.
EARLIER ANDROID BACKUPS
Earlier versions of StackWatch did not explicitly disable Android platform backup.
Android may therefore have created a backup controlled by your Google account, Android version, device manufacturer and device settings.
NorthStack Digital cannot access, view, retrieve or delete any Android platform backup associated with your Google account. Users concerned about an earlier device backup should review their Android or Google account backup settings.
INFORMATION SENT OFF YOUR DEVICE
StackWatch uses internet services to retrieve public market information and provide subscription functionality.
These services may include:
• Google Play Billing for subscription products, purchases, restoration and subscription management
• StackWatch’s pricing service for available public market-price and service-status information
• Third-party market-price providers for public precious-metal pricing
• Foreign-exchange providers for public currency conversion rates
Market-price, foreign-exchange and service-availability requests do not contain your holdings or private portfolio information.
StackWatch does not send your holdings, notes, targets, purchase history, portfolio totals, allocations, profit or loss, analytics snapshots or ratio calculations with these requests.
TECHNICAL CONNECTION INFORMATION
When StackWatch connects to an internet service, that service may automatically process ordinary technical connection information required to receive and respond to the request.
Depending on the service, this may include:
• Internet Protocol address
• Request date and time
• Device or operating-system network information
• Requested public market, currency or service endpoint
• Technical error or availability information
This technical connection information is separate from your holdings and private portfolio information.
StackWatch does not add your holdings or private portfolio information to these network requests.
GOOGLE PLAY BILLING
All StackWatch Pro purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.
Google Play may process information associated with your Google Play account, payment method, subscription eligibility, purchases, cancellations and subscription status under Google’s own policies.
NorthStack Digital does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
StackWatch receives the product, purchase and entitlement status needed to display subscription options, complete or restore purchases, unlock StackWatch Pro and provide subscription-management functions.
Billing information is not combined with or used to transmit your holdings or private portfolio information.
ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING AND CRASH REPORTING
StackWatch does not include third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software development kits.
StackWatch does not use advertising identifiers to track users.
StackWatch does not create behavioural profiles from your holdings or app usage.
StackWatch does not sell personal information.
LOCAL APP SETTINGS
StackWatch stores app settings locally on your device.
These settings may include:
• Theme and display preferences
• Display currency
• Unit preferences
• Holdings sorting preferences
• Interface expansion states
• Privacy-warning acknowledgement
• Locally cached subscription-entitlement status
• Other preferences required to operate the app
These locally stored settings are not used by NorthStack Digital to create a user profile.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Your holdings and private portfolio information remain on your device until you delete individual records, clear StackWatch’s app data, uninstall StackWatch, or the device removes or loses the information.
Because NorthStack Digital does not receive or store your holdings, NorthStack Digital cannot delete, restore, retrieve or provide a server-side copy of them.
You control deletion of your locally stored StackWatch information through the app and your Android device settings.
Public market and foreign-exchange providers may retain ordinary technical connection information according to their respective service requirements and privacy policies. They do not receive holdings or private portfolio information from StackWatch.
Google Play controls retention and deletion of information processed through your Google Play account and Google Play Billing.
HOW STACKWATCH PROTECTS HOLDINGS
StackWatch protects holdings and private portfolio information by:
• Storing them locally on the device
• Not creating a NorthStack Digital portfolio account
• Not operating a cloud holdings database
• Not including holdings in market-price or foreign-exchange requests
• Not including holdings in billing requests
• Disabling Android cloud backup for StackWatch app data
• Excluding StackWatch app data from supported Android backup and device-transfer mechanisms
• Not using advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
• Not logging holdings or private portfolio information through production network services
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Google Play Billing and public market or foreign-exchange services process only the information needed to provide their respective billing, pricing, currency or availability functions.
StackWatch does not provide these services with your holdings or private portfolio information.
Any purchase or transaction completed after leaving StackWatch and visiting an independent dealer is between you and that dealer. StackWatch does not provide the dealer with your StackWatch holdings.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
StackWatch is not directed to children under 13 years of age.
NorthStack Digital does not knowingly collect personal information from children through StackWatch.
Because holdings remain locally on the device, NorthStack Digital does not receive children’s holdings or private portfolio information.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to StackWatch, its public services or applicable requirements.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this policy will be changed when the policy is updated.
NorthStack Digital’s commitment that StackWatch will never transmit, collect, store or view users’ holdings and private portfolio information will not change.
