DRAMA CLUB SHOW (main stage)!

The Viking Players rocked the stage on May 5th and May 6th at 6:30 pm with our production of "The Internet is Distract--OH LOOK! A KITTEN!" by Ian McWethy. The production took place on the main stage in the cafeteria of North Middle School.

PLAY SYNOPSIS:

Micah only has twenty minutes to finish her paper on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Instagram lurkers, pig-throwing games and more threaten to take over Micah's schoolwork, or worse. Will she finish her paper and escape with her life before the school bell rings? A high-octane comedy that explores the rabbit hole of distraction we all go down every time we go online.

The Magical Chess Board

Thursday, April 28th @ 3:00 pm - Main Stage in the Cafeteria

A DURING-SCHOOL, INVITATION-ONLY, show on the MAIN STAGE!

Written by one of North's 7th grade classes, this one-act play features a chess board that comes alive, much to the distress of the chess players who want to regain control of the "pieces" and keep playing their game. The Pieces, though, want lives of their own and fight to find their own way of playing and adventuring. Will the Players convince the Pieces to follow their rules or will the Pieces win this game of wills?

To celebrate and show-off the improv unit that some of the Drama classes have been working on, our rehearsal space is hosting a couple of Improv Showcases for an in-class, staged performance of our various improv games and scenes. Our students will be inviting fellow North students to come be their audience, as they demonstrate the foundation and principles of Improv in an entertaining and engaging, interactive experience.
