Northern Chaplain Services is a nonprofit, Christian organization that provides professional chaplain services that meet Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organization for Best Practice in health care facilities.
We serve as members of the interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, their loved ones, and the staff who care for them.
We consider our work to be sacred. We enter into the lives of patients with gentleness and respect. We step in the breach and stand with people of different faiths, understandings, and backgrounds in a variety of different situations. We reach out to them with God's love and comfort, and do our best to meet their needs, sometimes under very difficult circumstances. It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this capacity.
Northern Chaplain Services is an independently owned and operated 501(c)3. This non-profit is sustained with the kind donations of individuals and other organizations--including the generous support of McLaren Northern Michigan Healthcare.
Currently, Northern Chaplain Services is staffed with two full time chaplains, Rev. Todd Thompson and Rev. Pete Aronson, and two part time chaplains, Jan Tubergen, and Rick Donahoe. Northern Chaplain Services is run by a Board of Directors who help guide the vision of this ministry.
