You can use the local wine cellar without an account or subscription. Wine records, gift-giver names, occasions, notes, history, lists and settings are stored on your device. Photographs used for scanning and bottle-image processing are processed on the device. A backup is shared or saved only where you choose; a copy you put in a cloud drive is also subject to that provider's privacy practices.
Premium cloud sync is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, you use one of the sign-in providers offered in your app, such as Google or Apple. Apple sign-in, where available, offers the option to hide your email address. The provider and Firebase Authentication handle authentication and assign your account an identifier. The account can include the email address and profile information your provider supplies, such as a display name.
Cloud Firestore stores your wine records, history and favorites under that account. These include gift-giver names, occasions, comments and storage-location labels you enter. Only include information you are comfortable storing in your account. Local image-processing caches and original scan images are not uploaded for OCR or translation. Product-image URLs may be included in wine records.
Cloud data provides sync between your signed-in devices. Access rules restrict each cloud collection to its authenticated owner. We do not sell your collection or use it for advertising.
The system contact picker lets you select a person without giving VinoKeep your whole address book. The chosen name can be stored as the gift giver, just like a name you type. It is included in cloud sync if you enable sync. VinoKeep does not store the selected contact's phone number, email address or internal contact ID in the wine record.
Thank-you messages are prepared on your device. You choose the text, recipient and sharing application and decide whether to send. The receiving application and recipient then handle the content under their own privacy practices.
Online search and enrichment send wine queries or product identifiers to the sources you enable, which can include Vinmonopolet, Systembolaget, Vivino and Open Food Facts. Product images may be downloaded when displayed. These services receive ordinary network information, including your IP address. The bundled LWIN catalog works locally without sending searches to Liv-ex.
Google ML Kit performs text recognition and translation on the device; input images and text are not sent to Google for that processing. Language models may be downloaded. ML Kit can send installation identifiers, device/app information, feature events, performance, error and language-configuration information for diagnostics and usage analysis. Firebase components can also send technical diagnostics.
Google sign-in handles identity and security information, including user identifiers and an IP-based approximate location. Its SDK privacy manifest also declares profile information such as name, email and phone number where applicable, device identifiers and technical usage information. VinoKeep does not request access to your location for organizing wine. The app has no advertising SDK or cross-app advertising tracking.
On supported platforms, optional voice input uses the operating system's speech service. Whether audio is processed locally or by the platform provider depends on your device and settings. VinoKeep does not operate a speech-upload server.

Apple processes iOS subscriptions. VinoKeep reads verified subscription transactions to determine Premium access and expiry. We do not receive your card details. RevenueCat is not used. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store or through Manage subscription in VinoKeep Settings. Android internal-test access does not require a paid subscription.
You can edit your wine records, export a backup and turn cloud sync off. Turning sync off keeps both your local collection and the existing cloud copy.
Delete account and cloud data in Settings asks you to confirm your identity, removes the cloud wine records and Firebase account, and revokes Apple sign-in authorization for an Apple account. This option does not require active Premium. The collection on the current device is kept. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately in the App Store if desired. Copies you exported or sent to other people are not removed by account deletion.
Local information remains until you remove it or delete the app; device backups you control may retain copies. Account and cloud collection information remains until you delete it. Providers may retain security, transaction or backup records according to their own policies and applicable obligations. Contact us for help with access, correction or deletion requests. You may also raise privacy concerns with your local data-protection authority.
VinoKeep is intended for adults and is not directed at children. Updates to this policy will be published here with a revised date.
