Northern App Dev ("we", "us") builds a small family of independent, privacy-first apps. This page explains, app by app, what data each app handles and how. As a rule across all our apps: no ads, no sale of personal data, and no account unless clearly stated for that app. Jump to the app you're interested in below.
HealthyFast stores the following information locally on your phone or watch so the app can work:
Your fasting sessions (start time, end time, chosen protocol and goal).
Meals you log (description, calories, and macronutrients you enter or that are estimated).
Your app settings and premium entitlement status.
This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us and we cannot access it.
When you ask the app to estimate the nutrition of a meal, the text description is processed by an on-device AI model (Google's Gemini Nano via Android ML Kit). This processing happens entirely on your device. Your meal descriptions are not sent to us or to any external server for this feature.
If you choose to enable it, HealthyFast can write your completed fasts and logged meals to Android Health Connect, so other health apps you use can access them. This is optional and requires your explicit permission. You can revoke this permission at any time in Health Connect or your device settings. We do not read data from Health Connect beyond what is needed to confirm and write these records, and we do not transmit Health Connect data to our own servers.
If you use the Wear OS version, your fasting state is synchronised between your own phone and your own paired watch using Google's Wearable Data Layer. This data travels only between your devices.
HealthyFast offers a one-time purchase and a subscription, processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details; these are handled by Google. The app stores only whether your premium access is active.
The app reads basic device characteristics locally (for example, whether it is running on a watch) to show the correct interface. This information is not collected or shared.
None of our apps are directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
VinoKeep ("the app") is developed by Northern App Dev ("we", "us"). VinoKeep is built local-first: no account is required to use the app, no ads, and no third-party tracking.
VinoKeep stores your wine cellar locally in a database on your phone, including the bottles you add (name, vintage, region, grape, quantity, tasting notes and photos), your favourites and tasting history, and your app settings. This data stays on your device unless you choose to enable cloud backup (see below).
If you tag a bottle as a gift, you can pick a name from your phone's contacts using the device's own contact picker. Only the selected name is stored in VinoKeep; no other contact data is accessed, stored or uploaded.
When you look up a wine, VinoKeep sends only the wine name or search text you type to open data sources (such as Vinmonopolet's open product data and, as a fallback, Open Food Facts) to fetch details like producer, region and grape. No other data about you, your cellar or your contacts is sent for this feature.
When you scan a wine label, the photo is processed on your device using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit) to read the label text. The photo and recognised text are not uploaded to us; only the resulting search text may be used for the wine lookup described above.
If you are a Premium subscriber and choose to turn on cloud backup, your cellar data is synced to Google Firebase under an account tied to your installation, so you can restore it or sync between your own devices. You can turn this off again in settings at any time.
You can export your cellar as an XML file to a folder or cloud drive of your choice, using your device's own file picker. We do not receive a copy of these exports.
VinoKeep offers an optional Premium subscription, processed by Google Play Billing (and the App Store on iOS) via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment details.
