The North Dunedin Community Patrol plays an important role in helping to keep our community safe. As a volunteer gorup, we work alongside New Zealand Police by acting as extra eyes and ears on the ground.
Through regular patrols across Dunedin, our trained volunteers observe and report any suspicious or concerning activity. While we are not involved in direct enforcement, our visible presence helps deter crime and provides reassurance to the public.
Our work focuses on:
Observing and Reporting - Noticing and communication anything unusual and suspicious to police
Visible Patrols - Maintaining a strong prescene in the community
Community Reassurance - Helping people feel safer in their neighbourhood
Supporting Police - Providing valuable information to assist frontline officers
