Dear North Creek Parents and Business Community Members,

DECA is a student leadership organization for high school marketing students with over 222,000 members from more than 3,700 high schools.  DECA helps prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.  In its 80 years, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, and business professionals (www.deca.org). 

North Creek’s DECA chapter is looking for parents and community business professionals willing to assist North Creek DECA student members as they prepare for business and marketing competitions during the 2023-2024 school year.  I am reaching out to ask you to consider joining us.

Year after year, Washington students are among the top DECA performers in the world.  Our local competitions (area and state) are very competitive and help prepare students for DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC), a challenging competition held each spring that includes nearly 20,000 students from around the world. North Creek DECA has grown into one of the top chapters in the nation (we had 8 top-ten finishers at last year’s international competition!). The key to DECA success is preparation, which is only possible with strong support from parents and business professionals willing to share their experience and expertise. 

There are nearly fifty different competitive DECA events, including role plays, written events, and formal business presentations requiring planning.  North Creek DECA needs the help of parents and community business professionals with experience and expertise in the following:

Volunteering for North Creek DECA requires only minimal time.  We need volunteers who are willing to share their industry knowledge and expertise and/or judge at DECA competitions (you will receive training!).
