About North Creek DECA

North Creek DECA was established in 2017 when North Creek High School opened. It is an integral part of all Marketing classes at North Creek High School. North Creek DECA members participate in numerous activities, including competitions, travel, leadership development, and DECA-only scholarships.

DECA is a student leadership organization for high school marketing students with over 220,000 members from more than 3,500 schools. DECA helps prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. In its 70-plus years, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, and business professionals.

The following Marketing courses are offered at North Creek High School:

Beginning Marketing - This class introduces students to the world of business and marketing and helps them to become college and career-ready. Students learn the fundamentals of business, selling, marketing, pricing, promotion, and branding through projects, simulations, and role-plays. Like all Marketing students, Beginning Marketing students participate in DECA. (5 college credits available, satisfies the CTE requirement)

Advanced Marketing - This course, open to any students who have taken Beginning Marketing, further teaches business and marketing and improves students' performance in DECA. (5 college credits available)

Marketing Management - This is an advanced marketing course for students who have completed Beginner and Advanced marketing. This course is heavily focused on preparation for DECA competitions as well as focusing on more specific areas of business and marketing. 

Retail Operations/Student Store - This course is open to fourth-year students who want to participate in the operation and management of North Creek's student store, The Den, while continuing to participate and excel in DECA.
