Homeless Pets . . .
A mother cat and her five six-weeks old kittens came to us in early November just before the arrival of cold weather. They were living in our garage until we were able to move them inside. We have cat proofed our guest bedroom and they are currently enjoying the warmth and comfort of indoor living. It is now our responsibility to find loving, forever homes for each of them.
They are all adorable and precious. Sharing our home is no sacrifice on our part and we consider saving the lives of six vulnerable and needy cats a good cause and an act of kindness.
By the way, the mother cat, shown on the stool in the picture, was a kitten herself in late fall of 2023. She slept last winter in our garage along with her three siblings. Their mother had either abandoned them or went missing. The four young cats left every morning before sunrise and returned late in the evening. When spring arrived they no longer came to our garage for the warmth of our heated cat beds. Occasionally they would arrive late at night in search of food. One of the strays has not returned for months. It was the most friendly and very beautiful as cats go. We can only hope that it found a good home.
The cycle of homeless and abandoned cats continues to repeat itself. We do our best to help the lucky few who come our way.
