During the 2022 Summer Games, I volunteered to help the community to setup and run the summer games.
I work hard to put in my volunteer time, I believe it provides a stronger layer of bonding between the people of the community, and I am glad to be a part of this wonderful community.
2024 World Rowing Championships
In order to contribute to the success of the day's events, I volunteered my time and efforts to assist in various capacities. I had welcomed and guided attendees, providing assistance to ensure that participants had everything they needed. I had also acted as a flag bearer for the duration of the events.
Memorial/Remembrance/Veteran's Day
Throughout the month of November, I dedicated my time to raising charity funds in support of veterans by selling poppies outside popular locations. This effort was driven by my profound respect and admiration for both veterans and the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I hold their bravery and sacrifices in the highest regard, and it is with deep gratitude that I honor their memory. Lest we forget
Canada Day
On Canada Day 2024, I joined a group of friends and family to attend the Mandarin's Canada Day event, proudly celebrating my identity as a true Canadian. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with smiling faces and shared joy, brought immense happiness to my day—perhaps even more than the delicious buffet!
On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, I attended an important meeting regarding the Standard Committee on Heritage Infrastructure and Cultural Policy at the Holiday Inn & Suites in St. Catharines. The meeting brought together all 12 municipal mayors of Niagara Region, along with Niagara Region Chair Jim Bradley, to discuss a study on regional governance overseen by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Also present were key business and innovation leaders, including Fred Davis, CEO of the Niagara Business and Innovation Fund, as well as Mishka Balsam, CEO of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, and Hugo Cheshire, the Chamber’s Director of Government Relations. A major component of the meeting was the study on regional governance, which examined ways to enhance collaboration and efficiency among Niagara’s municipalities. Moving forward, municipal and business leaders committed to further consultations, submitting feedback to the Ministry. Conversation also included broader economic development strategies.
City Councillor Norm St. George and Fire Chief of the St. Catharines Fire Department, alongside Mayor Tim Rigby and Regional Councillor Debbie Zimmerman, were joined by the Deputy Fire Chief to attend the 9/11 Memorial Walk. This solemn event honors the 27 Canadians who lost their lives in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Having reviewed my contributions and involvement, I invite you to explore my objectives and aspirations.
