NoRME General Assembly

Dear NoRME member

 

The general assembly of the Nordic Society for Research in Mathematics Education (NoRME) will take place on June 6, 2024, during the NORMA24 conference, at Aarhus University, Campus Emdrup in Copenhagen.

 

Please follow the conference website that will shortly present the final conference programme where the room and the exact time for the general assembly will be included.

 

If you, as a member, have any issues you would like to raise at the general assembly, please contact Guri Nortvedt g.a.nortvedt@ils.uio.no before May 25th.

 

If you want to suggest yourself or anyone else for the NoRME board, you can do this during the general assembly or by contacting the election committee prior to the general assembly. The election committee consists of

NORMA Conferences

Approximately every three years it is held a conference to assemble young and experienced researchers mainly from the Nordic and Baltic countries. This Conference is called NORMA – NOrdic Research in MAthematics education. 

The first NORMA was held 1994 in Lahti, Finland, followed by conferences in Kristiansand, Norway (1998), Kristianstad, Sweden (2001), Trondheim, Norway (2005) and Copenhagen, Denmark (2008). The last conferences (see the information below) took place in Reykjavík, Iceland (2011), Turku (Åbo), Finland (2014) and Stokcholm, Sweden (2017).

The next conference is NORMA24. It will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Danish School of Education - DPU, Aarhus University, in 2023. Chair of the IPC will be Morten Blomhøj. See the information below.

NORMA24

The NORMA24 conference, The Tenth Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, will take place in Copenhagen from the 4th to the 7th of June 2024. NORMA 24 is hosted by NCUM, the national center for developing mathematics teaching, and Danish School of Education (DPU), Aarhus University and the venue for the conference is campus Emdrup, DPU - a 15 minutes train trip from Copenhagen central station.

The theme of NORMA 24 is: Interplay between research and teaching practice in mathematics education

The scientific program will include lectures by prominent researchers in mathematics education and provide multiple opportunities for contributions by the participants.

Information about the theme and the different formats for contribution is available at https://matematikdidaktik.dk/aktuelt/norma-24. Registration and submission will be open from the 1st of October 2023.

NORMA20

The Ninth Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, NORMA 20 will be hosted by the Department of Teacher Education and School Research of University of Oslo (UiO), Norway.  The conference should take place in Oslo, June 2-5, 2020. Due to COVID-19, the NORMA20 conference is postponed to June 1 – 4, 2021.

NORMA17

The Eighth Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, NORMA 17 took place in Stockholm, Sweden, between 30 May – 2 June 2017. The conference was hosted by the Department of Mathematics and Science Education.

NORMA14

The Seventh Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, NORMA 14 took place in Turku (Åbo), Finland 3-6 June 2014. The theme for the conference is "Nordic research in mathematics education". The conference is hosted by the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Turku

NORMA 11

The sixth Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, NORMA11 took place in Reykjavík, Iceland, on May 11th – 14th 2011. The conference was hosted by the School of Education at the University of Iceland.
