My interest in Media studies comes from my lifelong love of making movies. As soon as I had technology of my own, I would take videos of classmates and friends and spend hours playing with the clips in post. The joy that that hobby brought to myself and others was what inspired me to pursue a career in media.
I am beginning to redirect my studies in writing, research, and media towards a career in a university library, where I hope to gain experience in archival media processing, preservation, and acquisitions. With this comes a considerable understanding and appreciation for university libraries and archives as a place of immense physical and digital resources, and I hope that my work can someday contribute to that expansion.
I transferred to the University of Georgia in 2023 for my sophomore year, where I was immediately accepted into the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications and their Cannes Film Festival program, a life-changing writing-intensive program that introduced me to the world of media distribution and critical writing for film.
I began my academic career minoring in English, which I later decided to pursue as a Bachelor's degree due to my love for fiction and non-fiction writing, as well as my interest in writing for academia and mass media.
Each semester of university has granted me the privilege of working on projects that I am passionate about and truly proud of, which I plan to carry close to my heart as I begin my career post-undergrad.
Outside of my academic career, I have an immense passion for visual design and mixed media arts. I find everyday inspiration in my cat, my girlfriend, and the city of Athens, GA.
