IMMERSIVE LEARNING LAB IMPLEMENTATION (2025–PRESENT)
I have supported the Curriculum and Instruction department in the establishment and coordination of the Immersive Learning Lab in the College of Education at Kansas State University, a project designed to expand access to VR/AI learning across K-12 and higher education. In partnership with Hale Library’s Sunderland Innovation Center, I helped coordinate the labeling, configuration, and application setup for 100 Meta Quest headsets, which will be dispatched to schools across Kansas. This initiative expands equity and access, ensuring that rural and underserved communities can integrate immersive technologies into everyday teaching and learning.
Alongside this technical rollout, I have worked to extend the lab’s reach by cultivating cross-campus and external partnerships. I have been collaborating with K-State Salina Technology campus on VR applications, and with the Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (KFAC) to align VR with agriculture curriculum.
As a VR/AR intern at Kansas State University’s Salina campus (College of Technology and Aviation), I supported the applied development of immersive STEM learning experiences for K-12 students. My work included contributing to two summer programs, the NextGen Wildcat Scholars Camp (high school) and the NextGen Elementary VR Camp, where I facilitated hands-on workshops in aviation, engineering, and emerging technologies.
In addition to leading AR/VR demonstrations, I taught students how to design 3D environments using CoSpaces, empowering them to move from being consumers of technology to creators of interactive content. I also assisted with AR/VR lab setup, facilitated classroom activities, and gathered data from students and teachers to refine future VR applications. Collaborating closely with faculty and staff, I ensured camp activities were accessible, engaging, and relevant for diverse learners.
In addition to lab and outreach projects, I embed the development of immersive technologies into my higher-education teaching. For details, see the Courses tab (EDCI 400, EDCI 318).
