Overview

Eric Larrieux is a composer, electrical engineer, educator, and creative technologist. He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in 2004, MS in Electrical Engineering in 2009 from Northeastern University, and CAS in computer music in 2018 from Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). He is currently a research associate at the Immersive Arts Space as well as the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology at ZHdK, where he is also pursuing his MA in Electroacoustic Composition. His professional background lies predominantly in signal processing R&D, sensor and system integration, data science, and robotics.

Areas of Research/Interest

Since 2017, I have shifted my professional focus from R&D in more traditional academic and industrial environments to concentrate specifically on music technology and the arts. I have primarily centered my efforts on the following research topics/concepts:

* Please note that the distribution on the figure above represents how I approach the activities listed, not an arbitrary classification. Also, many of the activities can span a wide range in either dimension, e.g. in my opinion, math, as a discipline, can be both extremely concrete and highly abstract; likewise, immersion can be more or less tangible depending on if physical objects or VR is used.
