Workshops
Workshops
When we asked nonprofit leaders to share the type of support they are looking for in the year ahead, the top response was clear - leaders are looking for workshops focused on timely and relevant topics impacting their work. Given the unique challenges facing nonprofit leaders and teams at this moment, learning is an essential tool to navigate uncertainty and build more resilient and thriving teams. In response to this need, the NLC will be offering expert-led virtual workshops focused on priority topics chosen by NLC leaders. In the true spirit of the NLC, these workshops will provide space for peer to peer learning and connection while also ensuring that each participant walks away with concrete tools and resources to support their work. We will update this guide and the NLC website with info about the specific workshop topics once confirmed.
Participants
NLC workshops are open to senior leaders and staff from Philadelphia nonprofits that are past or present grantees of the Barra Foundation, sponsored by another foundation or organization, or who pay a membership fee. Participants can register through a registration portal provided by NLC program staff in advance of the workshops. If you have questions about eligibility or are interested in an NLC membership, reach out to impact-ed@sas.upenn.edu for more information.
Schedule
Workshops will be held on Zoom on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 11th - Clarify Your Leadership "Why" to Find Steadiness in Uncertain Times, facilitated by Illuminate Collective
In this season of significant challenge and rapid change in the non-profit community, how do we stay rooted in our values and connected to our vision? In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to clarify your own “why” as a leader and to ground in the values and strengths that you bring to your work. You’ll leave our time together more equipped and empowered to step into your leadership and work toward your vision for impact, even in these uncertain times. This session is recommended for individuals who are new to their role and/or their organization, emerging leaders who are ready for a next step and mid-level managers looking to further develop their leadership. We’re excited to offer this space for you to engage in reflection, build community and reconnect with what sustains you as we close out the year.
