We are happy to invite you to the 11th Edition of the Workshop on Nonlinear System Identification Benchmarks held as an in-person event in Eindhoven, Netherlands, 12-14 May 2027. The workshop is preceded by a mini-course on nonlinear system identification, 10-11 May 2027.
This year again, the workshop is building upon its basic ingredients:
It is a forum facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between the different engineering communities that are interested in modelling dynamics.
A selection of renowned keynote speakers will be invited to share their views on future trends in data-driven modeling for nonlinear dynamical systems with the audience.
A 2-day course on nonlinear system identification takes place before the workshop (10-11 May), more info can be found here.
The workshop is open to both presenting and non-presenting participants. Contributions are expected to present the outcome of their favorite system identification approach on one or more of the benchmark datasets. The workshop is organized as an in-person event.
Important dates:
Precise dates will be announced in due time.
Registration opens: January 2027
Early registration deadline: March 2027
Late registration deadline: April 2027
Submission deadline: March 2027
Notification of acceptance: March 2027
Workshop: 12-14 May 2027 (start: morning 12/05, end: lunch 14/05)
Abstract submission:
Interested presenters are challenged to apply their favorite data-driven modeling tool to a carefully established list of benchmark systems and present their results as a regular presentation during the workshop. The list of benchmarks has recently been upgraded, and today 15 different benchmarks are proposed, addressing a wide range of state-of-the-art challenges in the field with various difficulty levels.
Interested presenters can submit their contribution to m.schoukens@tue.nl as a 1-page abstract, following this template. Contributions are expected to present the outcome of their favorite system identification approach on one or more of the benchmark datasets listed on this webpage. Submissions that have no clear link to one of the featured datasets will most likely be rejected. We also welcome relevant contributions already published elsewhere as the workshop's main goal is to have interesting discussions and generate insights into the current practices and state-of-the-art nonlinear system identification.
As of this year, we present an overview of previously obtained results on many of the benchmarks systems. Users can also submit their results. When tackling one of these benchmark systems, authors are encouraged to position their results with respect to the relevant results listed in the overview.
Information for presenters:
All accepted contributions will have a 30-minute timeslot to provide an oral presentation (20min presentation + 10min discussion). The workshop program, including the presentation schedule, will be announced in due time.
Registration: not open yet
The registration fees will be announced in due time
The registration includes coffee breaks, lunches, a welcome drink, and a social dinner.
Venue: Senaatszaal, Auditorium building, Campus Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Eindhoven next spring!
