We are happy to invite you to the mini-course on Nonlinear System Identification, 13-14 April 2026, preceding the workshop on nonlinear system identification benchmarks.
The mini-course is targeting PhD and other researchers that are interested in the modeling of nonlinear dynamical systems starting from noisy data. The mini-course is organized as an in-person event.
A preliminary mini-course program will be announced in the following weeks. The course will cover topics that include:
A brief introduction to (nonlinear) system identification and uncertainty quantification,
An overview of the main techniques available and white/grey/black box modelling philosophies,
Methods using time delayed embeddings, e.g. NARX/NFIR
Some approaches for equation discovery
Bayesian approaches with state-space models from white to black box
Discussion of model choice and implementation in a practical sense
