I'm a curriculum writer and history instructor from New York. I currently teach Social Studies and World Languages at Great Falls High School in Great Falls, Montana. My early education career developed at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. Apart from classroom instruction, I served as the on-camera world history instructor for a Los Angeles-based (Netflix-style) education technology company called Subject. Throughout my career, I've taught a variety of courses including AP World History, AP US History, AP Human Geography, a global leadership elective, and Intro to Spanish. I believe that an inquiry-based classroom culture is fundamental to learning. As a result, my courses stress the practice of student-led Harkness discussion and Visible Thinking Routines. I've presented on Curriculum Frameworks & Classroom Strategies to Build Global Competence at the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) conference, and Global Education & Technology at the Trinity University Graduate School of Education Master of Arts in Teaching Program. I've been awarded the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellowship Award by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in 2024-2025. I earned my MA from New York University. My graduate work focused on the history of 19th and 20th century eastern Europe, centering on the late Ottoman Empire and Yugoslavia. I'm a lifelong fan of FC Barcelona.
This is a unit I've constructed that embeds frameworks and lessons steeped in global education principles. It's essentially a Latin American Studies course that explores both historical and contemporary themes.
