This is a comprehensive report about Rei's agricultural activity. Since college life at the University of Nebraska at Kearney helped me to find the best career path for me, I would like to try something to show gratitude by sharing how agriculture is interesting. I hope you enjoy agriculture more and more.
What one likes, one will do well.
Visiting another city to see beautiful scenery and eat something delicious cultivates mental value. However, it still does not compatible with economic wealth cause it is consuming, not producing. Most people engage in their job to make money to create value. If the consumption and production was close, in other words, if the source of economic and mental wealth were close, that would be great.
This is how I found agriculture for my career.
Japanese Cuisine is recognized by UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List for its four unique features:
respect for diverse and fresh ingredients and their unique flavors
nutritional balance that supports a healthy diet
expression of the beauty of nature and the change of seasons
close relationship with annual events.
I enjoyed Thanksgiving supper with my host family and friends in Kearney. The same value is there in Japan as well, and people enjoy it daily.
As a farmer in Japan, although we are not dynamic as the US ones, produce the value support the indispensable value for this nation. And I will keep working on some projects to share interesting facts with international friends.
