My name is Nohelani Etienne and I am running for School Board. As a proud parent whose children are students in Schenectady, and a graduate of Schenectady High School, I believe that our community deserves a world-class education system. As a board member I will be a passionate advocate for:

• Safe schools that create a positive environment for both students and teachers.

• High expectations for student achievement in order to prepare our youth to successfully compete in a complex, evolving global economy.

• Meaningful parent involvement in school decision making that goes beyond occasional surveys.

I believe that our school system is a cornerstone of our community. As a board member, I will represent Schenectady with integrity, transparency and commitment to our shared values.
