Well Sophronia it is raining now and I can pass away time in writing as well as any other way. Jonas is playing the accordion and he can play very good. He thinks Mary Sidles picture is pretty. I guess he goes to see Henry’s wife sister. She was here this week. Cena [Sarah Delcena Hutchins] is most a young woman and she is a smart girl. The carpenters got done with Roscoe’s [Roscoe Gustavis Hutchins] barn that day I got over here. They are a working at Emerick’s house this week. I am asked to help Mrs. Emerick cook for the “raising” Saturday. I don’t know if I will go or not. I will tell you in my next letter if I went or not. I hant seen old Ann or her young one yet and I don’t know when I will. I heard they made their brags they wasn’t going to pay me for me chickens. But I will see about that.
Fronie [Sophronia Troupe] I am awful sorry I didn’t get any pictures took when I was out there. I don’t know what the folks will think of my carpet and I don’t see how it come that they didn’t come til Monday. I shall be very much disappointed if they won’t come til tomorrow. I guess I will close. I made Analisa her dress skirt and it fits her very well. She didn’t grow much this summer. So no more at present. I almost forgot to tell you how much it cost me to come out. It cost me four dollars and fifty five cents from Kansas.
My best respects to you all. Give my best respects to Jonas girls. I guess that is all for this evening. Excuse my poor riting and rite soon.
