Vivian Heltzel, 88, of Rome City died Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 7:15 a.m. in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Kendallville.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Heltzel was a member of the Weston Street Bible Church, Rome City.
She was born May 9, 1925, in Defiance County, Ohio, to Arthur L. and Gertrude (Roehrig) Fockler.
On March 21, 1943, in Wolcottville she married Floyd Heltzel. He survives in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Kendallville.
Also surviving are two daughters, Myrtle Kline of Kimmell and Marjorie “Margie” (Steve) Herendeen of Rome City; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Heltzel of Rome City; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 18 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Floyd L. “Bubby” Heltzel; three grandchildren, Tricia Ann Heltzel, Brenda Niles, and Charles Niles; a great-granddaughter, Sylvia Cole; a great great-grandson, Ayden Charles; and a sister, Isabelle Latta.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Dan Lash and Pastor Steve Herendeen officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is Thursday, February 20, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
