Dear Sister,
It is with great pleasure that I seat myself with the intention of writing you a few lines to let you know how we are: we are all well at present.
I received your letter sometime ago; well we made about one hundred pounds of sugar this spring. We tapped about one hundred and fifty trees. Well the sugar weather is about over for this spring: The roads are not very good.
Well, I had the Agne several times this winter: you tell Israel [Israel Troupe] if he has the Agne any more to take Black Ash Bark and put it in Whiskey and I take it. The doctor says that is as good a thing they knowed for the Agne.
Well, I am coming out there if I won’t stay here. I have a lot of ducks but they are wild and I can’t get them, they are on the river.
Write soon
