No Ordinary Life (NOL) is a Christian non-profit platform currently operating under the status of an unincorporated organisation. Our mission is to inspire all to achieve their maximum potential as elaborated by our slogan, 'inspiring ordinary people to live extraordinary lives'. We know people function at their best when their skills, passions and talents are shaped and developed to their best; making ordinary people live extraordinary lives.
We want to bring together like-minded individuals who are passionate about education, life and career choices. These are individuals who can use their experiences (both good and bad) to support and lead other young people, aged 12 to mid 30s and even beyond. People who are searching for their dream careers, purpose and calling. This platform aims is to reach out to young people to help them to shape their dreams including making the best choices of qualifications and university courses.
I would like you to think back to your secondary education or university experience. What reasons did you have for choosing a particular degree course? Was it curiosity, passion, a dream, someone edging you to or a random choice because you had too few options. Maybe you thought doing that course would become an asset for your future. These are the reasons that often shape our choices post-formal education and they are all valid reasons.
My personal experience has made me realise that most university graduates end up with doubt and uncertainty and often become frustrated after university when they step into the 'real' world.
I often speak with university students and new graduates and in most cases, they are often in doubt of their choice of degree programme or what to do after graduation. I am sure that my acquaintances are only a small fraction of the mass of people who are in doubt before, during and after university.
This is why I started No Ordinary Life. To guide young people into making well-informed choices for their future careers. To avoid what-ifs and to help people acquire skills to become more even if they often feel stuck.
