Description: Demolition of more than 50% of the roof at a Contributing rated, one-story, single-family residential building. 

Staff Recommendations: 

FEMA survey research estimates  that 203 Walnut was constructed from 1890-1900. The Queen Anne style building retains many of it's architectural features such as decorative ridge tiles, finials, hand turned columns, double gable façade and original massing. The proposal seeks to reframe approximately 70% of the roof in order to acquire more livable square footage. Due to the relatively intact nature of the original front façade and roofline Staff recommends denial as currently proposed.
