Michaela, Nikki, Kasey, and Leif spent about a week in Bethel and a couple days in Nunapitchuk. The primary goal of this trip was to present preliminary findings, reconnect with stakeholders, and meet community members and leaders in Nunapitchuk.
Key Activities
We visited Nunapitchuk and learned about the water preferences of community members.
We hosted a public meeting to present preliminary findings based on the Spring interviews and discuss future work with stakeholders.
We shadowed water truck drivers on their morning deliveries and toured the City Sub water treatment plant.
Key Takeaways
We are grateful to have had such a positive experience on our second trip to the YK Delta. We learned more about user preferences and workforce challenges with the water system. We look forward to working through all of our new data and returning next summer to implement some of our ideas.
