Trip Objectives
This was our first trip to Bethel! The team members (Michaela, Nikki, Lauryn) were introduced to Bethel by the team’s liaison, Leif. The primary goal of this first trip was to meet with and learn from community leaders and water system stakeholders.
Key Activities
We met with seven community leaders and 52 local water users.
We shared information about the project on the local radio show: Coffee with KYUK.
We hosted a table at the Saturday Market to interview users about their water experiences.
Key Takeaways
We are grateful to have received such a warm welcome in Bethel. We learned a lot about the water system and users’ experiences. Based on everything we have learned, we are eager to return in the summer to dive deeper into the water system operations.
