MPLA/NMLA Conference 2019

Mountains and Plains Library Association (MPLA) & New Mexico Library Association Conference (NMLA)

October 30-November 1, 2019

Winter Tales & More (Hane' dóó bilááh) / Jeannie Whitehorse and Frances Vitali, PhD

(New Mexico State Library Crownpoint Outreach and University of New Mexico College of Education)

Friday, NOVEMBER 1, 2019 10:30 Alvarado C Hotel Albuquerque - Old Town

Navajo Winter Stories and Chautauqua style storytelling will be presented, reinforcing the significance of stories as integral in cultural and academic teaching and learning. The learning and retelling of cultural and family stories reinforce our identity and self-expression.

As storytelling primates, our session celebrates this natural and cultural affinity for storytelling. Drawing from cultural and family oral history as 'funds of knowledge', we legitimize our own experiences.

Come join us and connect through our stories!
