Turn right on Jamieson St. Site is on the northwest corner of Jamieson and William St.
The block to the left of Jameson Street is the former site of the Ailsa Craig Continuation School.
Prior to 1874, youth in Ailsa Craig attended a log school in McGillivray Township. Plans for the Ailsa Craig school were soon made and classes for all ages began in January 1874. Crowded conditions allowed for an expansion to be built in 1878.
In 1915 the school was re-faced with brick, as it had previously been a frame building. In 1920, the school prepared and equipped classrooms on the second floor as a continuation school.
In 1931, the school was entirely remodeled, and additions were made.
In 1947, the Continuation School merged with North Middlesex District High School. The Continuation School continued to function with classes as far as the junior matriculation (Grade 12) until its eventual closure in 1954.
Elementary students still attended the school until 1974, when students started attending East Williams Memorial School or McGillivray Central School.
The school was demolished in 1983.
The current fire hall on the corner of William and Jameson was once the playground for the school.
