We are currently in a period of significant change, with artificial intelligence having a considerable impact on education. Large-scale language models (LLMs) which are based on natural language processing (NLP), and mixed reality (XR), are at the heart of this digital transformation. In educational contexts, new media celebrate linguistic diversity, but also demand inclusive solutions that respect different territories and their speakers from a critical perspective. This research proyect aims to analyse the pedagogical and sociolinguistic impact of the use of emerging technologies (LLMs and the metaverse) to highlight and integrate linguistic diversity from a critical perspective. As a result, it is hoped to shed light on the importance of critical digital literacy, highlight social satisfaction/dissatisfaction with new media, influence the natural acceptance of linguistic variants and lowresource languages, and offer an open repository of linguistic resources aimed at improving education, based on the conviction that linguistic diversity in the classroom is possible.
