NLEA strongly advises its membership to NOT use NLCS resources for personal use. Under the NLCS RUP, employees are open to disciplinary action for any and all noneducational or non-work related use of the school district's resources. This includes:
- Internet (wifi or wired)
- Chromebooks and desktop computers
- Any application or program
- Printers and paper
It is within your best interest to disconnect from school wifi on your personal devices. The RUP is very clear that the school district has sole ownership of any information transmitted on their networks (E.g. Personal smartphone connected to wifi to check email, social media accounts, and/or run applications) or to/from their equipment. Additionally, do not use school-issued devices (e.g. Chromebooks) for personal use... Even at home!
