Shortly after beginning her role as a Community Director at Bryant, Nilsa proposed a trip to Culture Con. Culture Con 2024, Nilsa took a trip with 6 students to Brooklyn, NY, to attend the professional convention aimed towards Black entrepreneurs and creatives.
October 2025, Nilsa elevated the trip to provide professional development, mentorship, and support to the students. Nilsa also completed a literature review exploring topics of authenticity, Black joy as resistance, and self-identity in higher education when it comes to the subject matter
Day of Understanding 2025, a presentation and Q&A panel will be moderated by Nilsa to highlight the experiences of the students.
