The name of this organization shall be the Northern Kentucky Association of School Librarians (NKASL).
The purposes of the Northern Kentucky Association of School Librarians are:
To encourage professional growth among its members through offering opportunities for study and for participation in professional activities.
To promote the improvement of school library services in Northern Kentucky.
To cooperate with other educators and library agencies in improving all types of library services for young people in Kentucky and the nation.
This Association is a section of the Kentucky Association of School Librarians.
Any person interested in the objective of this Association is eligible for membership upon payment of the annual stated dues.
The officers of this association shall be President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers shall be elected during the spring meeting.
The organization meets at least two times a year. The district president will determine the time and place of this meeting(s).
Any proposal to amend this Constitution shall be approved by a majority of the officers and presented in writing to the membership for action at the next regular membership meeting. Amendments to the Constitution require approval by two-thirds of those members present and voting.
The Association's fiscal year shall be July to June.

The Northern Kentucky Association of School Librarians determines the amount of the dues.

The district organization functions under its own constitution and/or bylaws, no article of which is to conflict with those in the KASL governing documents. No district or individual shall represent or obligate the KASL to any course of action without the expressed approval of the KASL board of directors.
The Northern Kentucky Association of School Librarians is a district organization of the Kentucky Association of School Librarians. This Association functions under its own Constitution and Bylaws, no article of which is to conflict with any article of the Constitution or Bylaws of the Kentucky Library Association or the Kentucky Association of School Librarians.
Nomination of officers is done at the Spring meeting.
The slate of nominees for President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be presented at the Spring meeting. Nominations may be made from the floor.
The term of office for each shall be one year beginning in August.
The district president fills by appointment all vacancies for the unexpired terms of officers.
Standing, special, and/or ad hoc committees may be created or dissolved by the President with the approval of the officers.
The President appoints all committee chairpersons for a term of one year, beginning in August.
No committee chair or individual member of a committee shall be allowed to represent, engage, or obligate this organization or KASL to any course of action without the expressed approval of the KASL Board of Directors.

Only a moment of silence can be observed at all Northern Kentucky Association of School Librarians meetings and functions.
A quorum shall consist of those in attendance at any business meeting.
Any proposal authority for the association is Sturgis' The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure, latest edition. The rules contained in the current edition of The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure shall govern the Association in all cases to which they are applicable.
