Anime Lectio is a combination of the Christian practice of lectio divina, or divine reading, and reflecting on anime I watch, which are both things that I like to do separately in my life as a monk. However, I also have a blog where I post examples of my idea of Anime Lectio (usually once a week). The Decline of Critical Thinking in Anime Culture is actually a reel/video posted by an anime content creator that I follow on Facebook and youtube (Dr. Applesauce). My idea of Anime Lectio is a response to this by offering a way to think critically about anime based on the process of lectio divina, or lectio, I use when applying it to reflecting on anime.

From the first black anime character, to the characters that black people love to claim as their own, this panel aims to not only inform con goers of the different tropes that black characters tend to have in anime but also highlight characters and shows that may otherwise be overlooked in this vast world that is anime.
