Cosplay
Cosplay is heavily encouraged! Feel free to cosplay from anime, video games, movies, or whatever your heart desires! Please follow the following guidelines:
No nudity or highly suggestive costumes, this is a family friendly convention
You must be wearing proper footwear at all times (being barefoot is not allowed)
No wheels on the feet (skateboards, rollerblades/skates, heelys, etc)
no stilts
no bikinis or lingerie
Props
Prop check will occur next to the registration desk
no taller than 6"
no blocking hallways
no sharp edges
no live steel
no strung bows
swords must be wooden or foam
no probs that resemble real weapons
no actual weapons
props should not be able to harm attendees
no smoke
no props that release projectiles (nerf guns, toy boys, etc.)
Harassment
NJIT Minicon does not tolerate harassment.
Some examples of Harassment include:
Offensive comments regarding race, gender, age, religion, disability, affectional or sexual orientation, ethnic background, appearance, etc.
Nonconsensual touching, hugging
Whistling, catcalling, and any kind of non-consensual flirting or sexual advances.
Bullying, coercion, stalking, heckling, following someone or blocking their path, inappropriate gestures, threats, intimidation, violent behavior
Unsolicited photography or recording
Please inform a staff member (identified by their red staff lanyards and badge ribbons) or email njitanime@njit.edu immediately if you feel you have been harassed and will will have a staff member come to you.
If there arises an issue with a staff member, you can ask for the Con-chair or Vice-Con-Chair to be paged, or go directly to a public safety officer.
If a member is found to be breaking the harrasment policy they will be asked to leave the event, and escorted out by staff if the need arises.
There will be hired public safety offices on site for the duration of the event.
COSPLAY IS NOT CONSENT
