The tournament offers 6 (3 Men's, 3 Women's) bids to the NIRSA Championship Series National Soccer Championships in Round Rock, TX on November 16-18, 2023.

GAME INFORMATION/FORMAT
Qualifying rounds consist of pool play with teams advancing to elimination/bid play. Men's teams will be guaranteed 3 games. Women's teams will be guaranteed 2 games.
Important Notes:
It is expected that all teams be ready to play on Friday, October 27 at 6pm.
Schedule change requests will be considered on a case by case basis but will NOT be guaranteed.
Cancellations by teams may affect the tournament, may result in byes and may affect the number of games each team participates in. Teams that cancel may be barred from future NIRSA Championship Series events.

WHAT: 12 Men's teams and 8 Women's teams will be invited to compete for 6 bids (3 Men's & 3 Women's) to the NIRSA Soccer National Championships in Round Rock, TX on November 16-18.

Men
1st Place Pool Winners will determine 3 National Bids
Women
1st and 2nd Place Pool Winners will play 3 National Bid Games; Winners of the National Bid Games will qualify for Nationals.

This is an invitational postseason tournament. Invitations and acceptance will take place Sunday, October 22. Payment and Team+Player Registration is due Wednesday, October 25 at 12pm noon!

Only invited teams will be placed into pools by Tuesday, October 24!
Each team must submit the PLAYER CERTIFICATION FORM VIA EMAIL TO nccsregion4soccer@gmail.com by Wednesday, October 25 at 12pm noon! (PLAYER CERT FORM now live 10/18/23)
One (1) form PER TEAM (with player signatures)
Must receive approval/confirmation from Registrar's Office and Sport Club Office!
Determines enrollment eligibility
HARD COPIES OF THE PLAYER CERTIFICATION FORM MUST ALSO BE SUBMITTED AT TOURNAMENT SITE AT LEAST 90 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR TEAM'S FIRST GAME TIME.
Each player must add themselves to their team by registering on IMLeagues and completing the NIRSA Code of Conduct, NIRSA Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form, and Roster Form for NIRSA playing eligibility.
All players due on IMLeagues rosters by Wednesday, October 25 at 12pm NOON!
NOTE: Players may not show on a roster immediately, as staff must verify the NIRSA playing eligibility manually.
Mandatory Team Tournament Check-In: Roster & Eligibility
At least 90 minutes prior to the start of a team's first scheduled pool play game, the team must send a representative to report to the playing fields to complete payment and/or team+player registration. All teams must certify their roster with their Sport Club Director; No Certification by your Sport Club Director equals no participation. A final roster certification will be performed at mandatory check-in by tournament staff as it relates to NIRSA eligibility for players with NCAA experience and/or 4+ years of collegiate participation. This info will be submitted via IMLeagues registration and the Player Certification Form, detailed above.
A team cannot play without a representative checking in with Tournament Staff at least 90 minutes prior to their first scheduled pool play game.
Mandatory Player Game Check-In
At least fifteen minutes prior to the start of each scheduled game, the Field Marshal will check the teams in for play. Each player must have a physical government or university picture ID that must match to the team’s player roster. Digital IDs are NOT permitted to be used. A team who fails to properly check in with the Field Marshal will forfeit that game.

Tournament play will be governed by NCAA Rules as modified according to NIRSA National Soccer Championships Rules of Play (2023 Rules) Link active soon

40-minute halves
Home team in light jerseys
Pool play tie = draw. Elimination play tie = 15-minute sudden victory then kicks from the mark.
Substitution rules
Allowed during goal kicks (by either team), for an injured player (one for one), for a yellow card (one for one) although not mandatory, and after a goal has been scored
Initiated by team in possession
Wait at half-way line
Sideline/Subs in colored jersey/vest to distinguish from field players
Personnel
25 player maximum
3 coach & 1 athletic trainer maximum
NOTE: All players/teams must follow NIRSA eligibility guidelines in order to be eligible to play in the regional tournament.
Determining Winners
Teams will be awarded points on the following basis:
Three (3) points for each Win
One (1) points for each Tie
Zero (0) points for each Loss
In the event of a tie in points at the end of pool play, the team(s) to advance will be determined as follows:
The winner in head to head competition.
High point differential (goals scored minus goals allowed) - max of 5 per match.
Most goals for.
Fewest goals against.
Most total wins.
Most shutouts.
If a tie still exists after steps 1 through 5, NCAA Penalty Kick procedures will be taken fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the appropriate game.
If a three-way tie exists within a bracket after steps 1 through 5, a three-way coin flip will be conducted. The teams that tie in the coin flip will compete in NCAA Penalty Kicks to eliminate one team prior to proceeding to NCAA Penalty Kicks with the third team. The coin flip and time of the NCAA Penalty Kicks will be determined at the fields.

Weather Information
The regional soccer tournament may be altered and or canceled in the event of inclement weather or poor field conditions. Games may be shortened, postponed or canceled. In the event of a tournament cancellation, bids will be awarded based upon the rankings.
