Before enrolling in postgraduate studies, literature primarily functioned as a medium of entertainment for me. I engaged with various forms of narrative expression such as films, television series, anime, manga, and books, all of which I perceived mainly as sources of leisure and enjoyment. However, my perspective underwent a significant transformation after pursuing postgraduate literature.
Through systematic and critical study, literature emerged as a powerful intellectual and analytical tool that deepened my understanding of the world. I began to recognize how literary texts reflect and interrogate complex structures such as politics, governance, human psychology, and social dynamics. Concepts like feminism, which were previously unfamiliar or only superficially understood, became central to my interpretation of texts and real-life situations.
Postgraduate literature has played a crucial role in shaping my intellectual outlook. It has enhanced my critical thinking, broadened my awareness, and enabled me to interpret human behavior and societal patterns with greater sensitivity and insight. What was once merely entertainment has now become a meaningful discipline that informs my worldview. Thus, literature has not only enriched my academic journey but has also contributed significantly to my personal and intellectual development.
