A Message from our President

Well I have to start with an apology, September meeting could have been better, I've had a bit of a health challenge for a good portion of my life. Many of you had to  witness me at my worst, It is true the older we get the longer it takes to recover. I promise I'm working on it and will take the time before October's meeting to save my strength.

I'm looking forward to the October meeting for several reasons. First of all I love auctions. I love a good buy. I like the adrenaline rush that you get at an auction. Thank goodness it is fabric and things that belong in the sewing room. I used to attend horse auctions and often may have had a 4 legged friend coming home with me. Second, I need to get my house back. I have not seen the top of my dining room table since January where at our first meeting of the year someone brought us 4 large boxes of auction items.

It's the time of year that our nominating committee will be calling you to ask if you can step up and give the guild some of your precious time. It is a call no one really wants to get because you might not want to be that involved but the positions have to be filled and it is a 12 to 24 months commitment. Like I wrote in an earlier month jump in with both feet, many of the older members have served in all or most positions. It's really just a few hours a couple times a month that your duties will take up. I personally am glad I said yes I can. This wonderful group with a heart has proven to me that I made the right decision. So seriously consider being on the board to keep this wonderful guild a shining star.
