Hole In One

League Achievements:

We Have Had 2 (Yes, that's TWO) Holes in One So Far This Year!

• JoEllen Austin whacked one in at Falls Road on May 10 with a 7 iron! Sadly, she didn't even see it go in. She bent down to get her tee out of the ground and heard her husband say "Babe - it went in!"
• John Gillen threw one in the hole July 3 at Needwood on hole #7. The hole was playing 177 yards, and John used a 3 iron (who can hit a 3 iron straight?) and watched the ball roll across the green towards the pin. He couldn't see it go in either, since the pin was behind the crest of the green. John was looking behind the green for his ball when his partner looked in the hole and announced that he had found it! (As a side note, John says he normally uses a 4 or 5 iron on this hole, but the wet conditions called for more club.) As a second side note I don't think anyone would argue with his club choice considering the results!
