We are a group of employees of NIQ who aim at work conditions improvement. We believe that the employees – as the key value and base of each company – should exert impact on organization and their work should be fairly remunerated. We know that collectively, we can achieve more than individually. Thanks to the trade union organization we have at our disposal legal support, knowledge from other trade unions and independence from the employer. Our daily, community service consists mainly of assessing the employees’ needs, communicating with the employer, representing the employees in their individual cases, and on mutual support in our workspace.

What is changing in a workplace after union is established?
EMPLOYER IS OBLIGED TO CONSULT DISMISSALS AND TERMINATIONS WITH THE UNION
The employer must consult with the Union all disciplinary dismissals and terminations of indefinite contracts. The employer must negotiate with the Union in case of large-scale redundancy
IMPACT ON WORK ORGANIZATION AND REMUNERATION RULES
The employer must consult with the Union any changes in the work organization and remuneration rules.
SOCIAL FUND CONTROL
The employer is required to take the opinion of the union regarding expenses from the Social Fund into account. Without Union’s approval, the employer cannot cancel or stop the social fund.
RIGHT TO INFORMATION ON THE STATE OF AFFAIRS WITHIN THE WORKSPACE
The union has the right to request information on wage levels, number of employees, financial situation, etc. Thus, the employees gain more knowledge on the workplace’s situation and can demand changes for the better.
INTREVENTION IN INDIVIDUAL CASES
The trade union can submit to the employer various applications, inquiries, and letters regarding particular employees – in case of problems with discrimination, disciplinary actions, working conditions and the amount of remuneration. The union can also represent its members in the labor court.
COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY AND HEALTH REGULATIONS CONTROL
The employer must consult on all the actions and rules regarding occupational health and safety regulations. The union has the right to form the Social Labor Inspection – independent workers’ service which monitors occupational health and safety regulations.
COOPERATION WITH THE LABOR INSPECTORATE
In case of National Labor Inspectorate’s inspection, the union receives information on the purpose of the inspection and its results. The union’s representatives can be present during inspectional activities.
MOBBING COUNTERACTION
The union can put its representatives in for anti-mobbing committees and submit proposals on rules and procedures for mobbing counteraction.
