Introduction
Welcome to my Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) portfolio. My name is Nico Sweet and I am a graduate student in the School of Information Science at the University of South Carolina. The iSchool has established core competencies for MLIS students that indicate what skills, knowledge, dispositions, and professional values MLIS graduates should be able to demonstrate upon graduation. This site serves as my end-of-program portfolio, showcasing my work in the program and demonstrating my mastery of the core competencies.
I began my master's degree in 2022 after receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at Winthrop University. While undergoing my BFA, I became heavily engrossed in archival methods to present and involve my research centered around philosophical topics. That being said, I have always been very interested in libraries from a young age, and this program has only further motivated me in my research, inspiration, and passion for the subject as I continue to work at the library.
I appreciate the time and effort that you have taken dedicating to the task of assessing the knowledge and skills I have gained throughout this program.
