High quality academic video plays a critical role in hybrid or online courses. It not only can replace face-to-face lecture, but also give students much more flexibility to learn anytime, anywhere.
Academic Design and Technology Team provides academic video tools & services to all Nicolet instructors and students. The service includes training and guidance on:
Creating course video
Uploading videos to the video platform
Closed captioning course video
For creating videos for teaching and learning purpose, we recommend two tools:
Yuja
Video Note, embedded feature in Brightpsace
Yuja video platform covers all essential needs to organize, create, upload, edit, publish, and share media content, such as live streams and on-demand videos with internal and external users. It can also engage students with the video content easily, such as through conversation and embedded quizzes. Students can also use this tool within Brightspace from the course navigation bar.
Here is a an overview video of Yuja (covering the creating, uploading, editing and sharing of videos) :

Video Note is an easy to use tool embedded in Brightspace allowing instructors and students to create video or audio and attach to assignment, discussion board, announcement, email and feedback. This is a great tool to add social interaction for your course, as students are definitely prefer to watch instructor speaking to them instead of reading a page.
