Project 1

Project 1 Reflection:

Project 1 was stressful and a little bit complicated with the topic choice but then I don't have a strong suit for English classes or writing out papers. I feel that I struggled with wording the whole essay to make it not a conversational sort of paper to where my own thoughts were coming out when its supposed to be grabbing all the information and evidence which supports the topic that I've chosen. I also struggled with this topic of gene analysis, finding the advertisements and information wasn't complicated it was more of a struggle to bring in what we've been going over in class and finding sources from our course readings to support or explain more about the advertisements. For example trying to add if specific things are logos, pathos or ethos. I feel that I excelled In my layout of the essay like I was able to have the paragraphs flow on to each other and be able to grow on the information from the previous paragraph instead of talking about a whole new topic and not finishing the explanation of the previous text. I also think I did a good job on finding all the information I was able to gather and putting it in the essay supporting each statement. I feel like I would change the perspective of how I wrote it, some paragraphs turn into a conversational type of analysis when its just supposed to be analyzing and explaining the info. While working on this project the two SLOs I engaged in were writing as a process and research. I learned that gaining as much research is beneficial to having a good essay and planning and prewriting is good too.

SLO#1: Writing as a Process 

The first SLO I used was this one, i used it by creating and brainstorming how i was going to plan out my project. I organized and outlined all of my information.I then constructed my rough draft with the structure of my outline. Then i had my peers review it so i can then perfect my final draft the following week. 

SLO #2: Research

With this SLO i used this one to find information from the internet and other reliable sources to then construct my outline so i would be able to complete my rough draft. I also used this to get my works cited for the end of my project.
