With over two decades of experience serving at-risk youth and young adults, particularly those who have experienced foster care—I am a deeply committed social work professional dedicated to fostering self-sufficiency and successful transitions to adulthood. My expertise spans employment readiness, career exploration, and facilitating access to sustainable employment opportunities. Beyond workforce development, I have provided crucial support in securing stable housing, navigating higher education pathways, and building strong support systems.
Recognizing the unique challenges these young individuals face, I take a trauma-informed approach to address complex needs related to mental health, substance use, and the unique circumstances of young parents. I have helped hundreds and hundreds of at-risk youth find their paths to self-sufficiency, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to thrive.
My educational background includes an Associate’s degree in Clinical Child Care from Bristol Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State University, and a Master’s degree in Instructional Design from UMass Boston. I am a Licensed Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a proud member of the Tri-Alpha First-Generation Honor Society.
My passion for this work is deeply personal. Raised by my mother and grandmother in a home that welcomed many foster youth, I often say I came out of the womb a natural-born social worker. As a former young single mother and first-generation college graduate, I understand firsthand the obstacles faced when pursuing goals without adequate support. That lived experience drives me to develop accessible and practical tools that empower young people to achieve self-sufficiency and build fulfilling lives.
Today, I live with my three dogs, Coconut, Cashmere, and Clementine and my 23-year-old son, Dillon, who is currently a junior at UMass Dartmouth. Having been a single mother his entire life, I am incredibly proud that he is now a second-generation college student aspiring to be a history teacher, continuing the legacy of shaping young lives.
