My name is Nick Geis. I am a sixth-year Ph.D. student at The Ohio State University. My Ph.D. advisor is Ghaith Hiary. Before coming to OSU, I completed a B.S. in Mathematics at the College of Creative Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara.

My research area is in the intersection of analytic number theory and probability theory. I study probabilistic objects called random multiplicative functions. These serve as a probabilistic model for common multiplicative functions that arise in number theory. I am currently interested in counting sign changes of partial sums of random multiplicative functions.

I am on the job market (last updated May 2024). I am currently looking for positions in both academia (teaching emphasis) and industry.
