About Me :D
Hi! My name is Nick and I'm an 4th year computer science undergrad at UMaine with a minor in creative writing. I'm a transfer student from the University of Rochester where I majored in chemistry for a while as well. After graduation, I plan to get a job (hopefully) in something relating to data science!
I'm a bona fide extrovert, and my goal with tutoring is always to make it an enjoyable and worthwhile experience! Writing has always been something I've enjoyed, and it's my life-long goal to one day have a book published. My strong suits are in creative writing and scientific papers, but I love working with all different types of writing, and I'm always down to learn something new from reading someone else's work!
Outside of the Writing Center, I like figure skating, playing videogames (mostly Genshin), watching anime, and sewing / prop making! I used to be a competitive figure skater for a while, but I was mostly self-taught from YouTube! Several of my writing pieces included in this website are based around figure skating since my love for the sport runs so deep. As for Genshin and anime, my main in Genshin is Eula and my favorite animes currently are Haikyuu, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Trigun Stampede.

I'm a self-proclaimed costume designer! I make my own cosplays for cons and create my own costumes for figure skating competitions. I love being able to take a concept design and bringing the art to life as something I can proudly wear, whether it's in front of a crowd on the ice, in a cosplay competition, or just for fun!

Vash the Stampede - Trigun Stampede
My most well-known cosplay! The jacket and glove were sewn from scratch, and I fabricated the prosthetic arm as well.
Lance McClain - Voltron
My most complicated and ambitious cosplay! I sewed the bodysuit from scratch, and the entire armor suit was made from EVA foam. I even did the wiring myself!
