Nichols College strives to approve a wide variety of programs that meet the academic, personal, and professional needs of students from all majors. These programs are vetted and approved not only for their academic fit, but also for their student support services, health and safety infrastructure, and other learning and engagement opportunities. If a student wishes to pursue a program outside of those approved by Nichols College, they must submit a petition to the International Programs office at least one year before applying. The student must be on track to complete their graduation requirements in four years, have a strong academic rationale for choosing the program, and the program must be in a location where Nichols College does not already offer an approved program.
With prior approval, students are eligible to pursue a company or program on their own. However:
Programs must not be in the same location as an already approved program.
Programs must have a sound academic, professional, and personal rationale.
Students must have Junior class standing.
Students must understand that the International Programs office cannot provide thorough assistance with a company or program we are not partnered with, nor can we guarantee your experience while abroad.
Students must meet all regular requirements to study abroad.
