The Revenue Collection Management System is a comprehensive digital platform designed to streamline and automate the management of various revenue streams for local government authorities in the Republic of Malawi. The system was developed to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the collection and management of public revenues.
This solution was developed by a team of ten members, including analysts, designers, frontend developers, backend developers, and QA testers. I contributed as a backend developer, primarily responsible for developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, implementing business logic, and ensuring secure data handling using Spring Boot with Java. The frontend was developed using AngularJS, offering a responsive and user-friendly interface.
Key Revenue Modules Managed by the System:
Building Permit Management – Handles applications, approvals, and payments related to construction permits.
Business License Management – Facilitates the registration, renewal, and compliance tracking for businesses.
Liquor License Management – Manages applications and approvals for liquor sales in accordance with regulations.
Property Rental Management – Oversees rental agreements and payments for public or government-owned properties.
Billboard Permit Management – Controls the issuance of advertising and billboard permits.
Key Features:
Automated Application Workflows – Streamlined processing for all permit and license types.
Integrated Payment Gateway – Secure payment processing for fees and charges.
Role-Based Access Control – Ensures access to modules and data based on user roles.
Audit Trails & Reporting – Provides detailed reports and activity logs for transparency and decision-making.
