Nicholas Pattinson is an aspiring visual artist. He studied in BA Fine Art at the Birmingham City University's School of Art, in 2021. He advanced his studies through MA Fine Art at the same university, in late 2024.
Nicholas's art practice, especially with the latest works, explore the incorporating and transformative language of scenography, with recurring personal themes of sentiment, individuality and belonging included into the mix. While Nicholas’s interplay with mediums are generally fluid throughout his art practice, he has developed a very close affinity for handcrafting theatrical miniature sets, digital painting, and typography.
With psycho-geography, another favourable topic, Nicholas took opportunity to explore the alternation and relationship of urban landscape with human navigation, social language and the importance of paying attention towards one's immediate surroundings. His art practice has also studied, or perhaps whimsically played, with the cojoining of mild comical fantasy with personal life, for the primary sake to express a visually simple yet humorous poster-styled narrative.
